OAK GROVE - The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating a deadly plane crash in West Carroll Parish.

Sheriff Jerry Philley says dispatchers received a call Monday morning that an airplane had crashed about 11 miles northwest of Oak Grove.

When deputies arrived at the scene, off La. Highway 585, Philley says they found a small single engine aircraft had crashed.

The sheriff says Randy L. Capers, of Oak Grove, later died as a result of injuries suffered in the crash.
