"Not a Baaaaad Idea..."
A recent house inspection furthered the need for attic additions and before returning to summer heat, insulation may be on the "to-do" list. The expression, "raining cats and dogs" originated when the critters would nestle in thatched roofs during cold weather. Once a storm hit the thatch, the cats and dogs "rained" down thus the expression, "Raining cats and dogs." Sheep wool is now used as an alternative to fiberglass insulation. The folks at Oregon Shepherd produce the only loose fill, brown-in wool insulation in the world and their 100% natural wool insulation meets federal standards, especially for flame testing. Apparently, the ease of insulation, performance and energy savings reduces heat and cooling costs by eliminating air pockets that may occur with other insulation materials. Might not be a baaaaa-d idea.
