MORGAN CITY- Power operations could be "back to normal" by Monday. The Mayor told News2 Friday crews will work over the weekend to make the final connections to the new machinery put in place after an explosion at the city's power supply.

Power was knocked out for nearly 24 hours earlier this week, leaving around 12,000 people in the dark.
As crews make repairs, a temporary power supply has been used to power the city.

New transformers are in place and technicians are taking the opportunity, while the main plant is off-line, to do maintenance.
