NOPD: Parents abandon child at New Orleans hotel
NEW ORLEANS - New Orleans police say they are trying to get the parents of a 6-year-old boy to return to a hotel where they left him unattended.
Police say the man and woman were fighting around 5:15 a.m. Friday. Witnesses told police they saw the man force the woman into a vehicle and then the couple drove off.
When officers arrived at the hotel, they found the couple's 6-year-old son unharmed inside their hotel room.
Police spokesman Frank Robertson says officers are talking on the phone with both parents but they refused to return to the hotel to pick up their child and talk with officers.
