NOPD officers "Wobble" for Mardi Gras
NEW ORLEANS - Some New Orleans Police officers really got into the spirit of Mardi Gras during Sunday's parades.
Slidell reveler Ginger Morris posted video of Officer Winston Harbin Jr. and Officer DeCynda Barnes doing the "Wobble" line dance for crowds waiting to see Endymion roll through Mid-City.
The video quickly went viral, getting shared more than 107,000 times as of Monday afternoon.
"The whole point of the video is to show that a family can have a great time in a beloved city that is well protected by individuals who have a heart and compassion for the people of their community" Morris posted to her page. "Thank You NOPD!"
It's a very different scene than Harbin and Barnes are used to working: the two are homicide detectives who investigate cold cases, according to the NOPD.
