A two-year veteran of the New Orleans Police Department has been fired for violating department rules and regulations.

The department announced Thursday that Sean West was dismissed after an investigation by its public integrity bureau.

According to the news release, the investigation found that West violated department regulations for professionalism and premature displaying of a firearm.

Superintendent Ronal Serpas says that after a review of the findings, that rules were broken.
