NOPD ID woman accused of French Quarter pokings
NEW ORLEANS - Police have identified a woman wanted for poking strangers with a sharp object Sunday night in the French Quarter.
The NOPD identified 47-year-old Jeannene Meyer as the person wanted in connection with an aggravated battery Sunday night on Decatur Street.
Shortly before 9 p.m., Meyer, according to police, walked down the sidewalk in the 900 block of Decatur Street, poking random pedestrians with an unknown sharp object. She appeared to be mumbling to herself as she walked down the street. Two men, 28 and 62 years old, sustained minor injuries in the incident, which was captured on surveillance video.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Meyer for two counts of aggravated battery, and according to police, Meyer may also be using the names Jeanne or Jeanie.
WWL-TV in New Orleans has security camera footage of the criminal activity on their website.
