NEW YORK- Honey Boo Boo knows a thing or two about making "good TV," according to TLC.
The cable network ordered holiday specials of the show, based on the seven-year-old breakout star, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson. Cameras follow her, her mother June and their rural Georgia family as the child participates in pageants.
Thompson's outgoing personality and catchphrases like "A dolla makes me holla" made her a star, although some critics suggest the show mocks small-town Southern life.
It's one of those "love to hate" shows, that has filled pop culture lately.
"New Honey Boo Boo tonight! It's sick that I'm excited for that," a fan of the show Tweeted Wednesday.
Another fan asked on social media, "Is anyone else stoked about the season finally of here comes honey boo boo?"
The series airs its 10th and final episode of its debut season on Wednesday. But, more are coming.
TLC's announcement Wednesday included details about Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas specials.
Additional episodes of the series were also ordered, set to air next spring.
