WASHINGTON - The top U.S. commander in Afghanistan says the process of winding down the war there is on track, and the U.S. has no intention to stay in the country forever.
Marine General John Allen told the House Armed Services Committee that coalition forces are making progress in handing over security to the Afghans.
The planned withdrawl of U.S. forces from Afghanistan by December 2014.
