No injuries after 3 school bus crash
ST. AMANT - Three buses, with an estimated 50 students in each vehicle, collided in a chain reaction as buses were leaving St. Amant High School on Thursday afternoon.
According to law enforcement in Ascension Parish, the first bus turned out of the high school located at Church Point Road and Hwy 431 and put on its brakes. A following second bus collided with the rear of the first bus, and a third bus read-ended the second.
Police said there were no injuries reported at the time, and the incident was not a serious crash. Bus riders were moved to other buses, and parents with kids riding the bus from St. Amant High School may expect delays.
The buses involved in the incident were later put back into service on primary routes that included Lakeside Primary and Prairieville Primary. Parents of children from those schools may expect delays as well.
