THIBODAUX - The Nicholls State University football team will officially begin the 2012 season on Thursday as 95 players are set to report for fall camp. Members of the offense and special teams will report at 9 a.m. at Barker Hall, with defensive players scheduled for 10 a.m. Following Thursday's activities, the Colonels will have their first practice on Friday night at 7:15 p.m. The team will gear up in full pads for the first time on Wednesday, Aug. 8, while its two Saturday scrimmages are slated for Aug. 11 and Aug. 18. Nicholls opens the season on Sept. 1 at Oregon State, with kickoff set for 2 p.m. CST. The game will air on the Pac-12 Network.
