Nibali starts Stage 7 of Tour with 2-second lead
EPERNAY, France - Tour de France riders have set off on the seventh stage, 234.5 kilometers from Epernay, the capital of Champagne country, to the eastern city of Nancy.
Overall leader Vincenzo Nibali has a two-second lead over Astana teammate Jakob Fuglsang and is two minutes, 37 seconds clear of Alberto Contador, his main rival since defending champion Chris Froome dropped out of the race injured two days ago.
The mostly flat stage should favor breaks, while Contador's Tinkoff-Saxo team may try to test Astana's control of the pack.
