PORT ALLEN- An attorney has agreed to file an injunction on behalf of the city council, upset with the mayor for blocking city employees from city bank accounts.

Recently, Mayor Deedy Slaughter banned CFO Audrey McCain from accessing bank accounts and signing city checks. Slaughter also forbid city payroll clerk Robin Ackerman's access too.

A judge will be asked to overturn the mayor's decisions, and forbid Slaughter from limiting access.

The injunction was drafted by Attorney J. Arthur Smith after a meeting late Monday with Port Allen City Councilmen Hugh Rivière and Garry Hubble. The documents are set to be filed Tuesday or Wednesday.
