News 2 Exclusive: Teen shot doing homework speaks from hospital
BATON ROUGE- The 15-year old girl shot inside her home Monday afternoon as she did homework on her computer, invited our cameras inside her hospital room to recall the frightening moments.
"When I got shot, I thought I was going to lose my life," she said.
The teenager was shot in the chest after after hearing gunfire outside her home. A stray bullet went through a window, entering and exiting her body.
"When I got shot, my mind had a song in my head, oh happy day," she said. "It was playing through my mind when they were cutting me trying to get the bullet out. I felt they had angels over me."
The teen said she has a new outlook on life after the shooting.
Today, Baton Rouge Police announced they are looking for 18 year old Darius Joseph. He's accused of three counts of Attempted First Degree Murder and Illegal Use of a Dangerous Weapon.
Monday, Detectives arrested 26-year old Charles Sibley. Investigators say the two men were having a gun battle on the street when the teen victim was hit.
She told News 2, she wants them to pay for her suffering.
"I hope they get locked up," she said.
