Newly recovered pup looks for a home
BATON ROUGE - A newly recovered chihuahua is looking for a new home.
Animal rescuer Andrea Lafaver from Save Our Strays said the chihuahua, named Luka, was pulled from animal control the day before it was going to be euthanized.
Luka suffered from a mite that was inside her body, making it much more difficult to treat. Lafaver said it took Luka more than a year to fully recover.
According to Lafaver, Luka's original owners poured chemicals on the puppy, to deal with the mites, but Lafaver urges that home remedies hurt more than they help.
