GONZALES - Police ticketed a new Gonzales city councilman after they said he stole electricity from a nearby trailer park.

Police issued a misdemeanor summons to Timothy Vessel on Dec. 17 for theft of utility services.

According to Chief Sherman Jackson, on Nov. 30 the manager of the Vesta Trailer Park called police and told them one of their residents saw Vessel come onto the property to hook up an extension cord which led back to his property.

Vessel told police he'd only been using it for one day, but the manager said it had been used by workers on Vessel's property for three days.

The case is scheduled to go to court on March 6.
