Topics: "Rosa's Law", Congress, "mentally retarded", "an individual with an intellectual disability"

Strike the words "mentally retarded" from your vocabulary like Congress just did. The President is expected to sign the legislation that replace the words with "an individual with an intellectual disability." The two Senators that sponsored the law say it would make language in federal law consistent with what's used by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The bill is named "Rosa's Law" after a girl in Maryland with Down Syndrome.
