New website aims to match La. workers with jobs
BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Economic Development's latest attempt to match job seekers with thousands of open jobs in the state launched Monday in the form of the new and innovative LouisianaJobConnection.com website.
The free website made its initial debut in June as the platform was opened to employers, who began registering open positions, and now the skills-based job matching platform that automatically matches job seekers with jobs for which they are most qualified is open to the public.
600 Louisiana employers are already using the site with thousands of open jobs waiting to be filled. The site is open to Louisiana residents and out-of-state job seekers alike, and the website attracted more than 700 job hunters on its launch day. A major goal of the web-based platform is to ease the search process for employers and prospective employees, which ultimately reduces employment, increases productivity and expands profits for small businesses.
Job seekers are encouraged to sign up for the website to begin the matching process regardless of current residency or education level. It is not too late for employers to sign up and post job listing as long as they can provide their Louisiana tax ID in order to complete the registration process.
