Two New Orleans police officers charged in the 2005 beating death of a 48-year-old man will get a new trial date.
The start of the trial for officers Melvin Williams and Matthew Dean Moore has been moved from Oct. 4 to April 4, 2011 in order to give more time for prosecutors to prepare.
An indictment accuses Williams of kicking Raymond Robair and beating him with a police baton, causing his fatal injuries.
Robair died of a ruptured spleen after Williams and Moore dropped him off at a hospital.
