New sweetener for Diet Pepsi
NEW YORK- Pepsi is replacing a key ingredient in its diet line.
There will be no more Aspartame. That sweetener will be replaced with Sucralose. Aspartame has been dogged by allegations it could have harmful side-effects, although the FDA says it safe for human consumption.
Pepsi hopes the switch of sweeteners leads helps with Diet Pepsi's slumping sales.
