Texas A&M will open the 2012 season with a bang.

After their opener was postponed because of Hurricane Isaac, the Aggies will kick off the season at home Saturday against No. 24 Florida in their first game against a fellow Southeastern Conference rival.

Florida beat Bowling Green 27-14 last week and got a chance to figure out its quarterback situation and work out some kinks. That gave the Aggies some tape to watch - something the Gators don't have.

New Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin says: "You can't worry about that." Florida coach Will Muschamp says: "We are in a little bit of a guessing game."

The conference affiliation is brand new and the tailgaters no doubt will show up much earlier. Expect the interstate to be clogged even more than usual, too.

A new era has dawned at Missouri, which makes its Southeastern Conference debut on Saturday night against No. 7 Georgia

There are plenty of firsts ahead, with top-ranked Alabama coming to town in October. Players know they can't afford to get too fired up for the Bulldogs, but they want to win.

Georgia is coming off a 45-23 opening victory over Buffalo. Missouri opened the season with a 62-10 rout of lower-division Southeastern Louisiana.
