New Roads/St. Francisville ferry return delayed

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) says that the ferry will remain out of service until midday on Friday, January 8, 2010.
The ferry service was suspended on Tuesday for repairs to be made to the vessel’s engine cooling system. Parts needed to complete the repairs will be delivered and installed tomorrow.
Normal operating hours for the New Roads/St. Francisville ferry are seven days a week from 5 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Drivers can also check the status of the ferry by calling 1-888-613-3779 or by visiting the DOTD Website.
