A New Orleans woman has been sentenced to five years probation for two counts of theft of government funds relating to applications she submitted to FEMA and the Louisiana Road Home program after Hurricane Katrina.
Elizabeth Holiday received a $54,566 Road Home grant and $21,382 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency after the 2005 storm.
Authorities say Holiday fraudulently represented that she used as a primary residence a rental property she owned.
The rental property was damaged by the Aug. 29, 2005 storm.
