New Orleans stand-off ends in death
A four-hour standoff has ended with the death of a man who barricaded himself inside his home.
Laura Colville, a neighbor, identified the victim as Stephen Banford.
Colvill says the stand-off could have been avoided.
She says she called police eight times this month about his erratic behavior but he was never arrested.
Colville says she called 911 Monday morning after hearing loud music and Banford screaming the words, "Kill, kill, kill."
When she returned home about 11 a.m., dozens of police were there responding to a call about a man in the street with guns.
Banford fired at officers, who returned fire.
At about 3 p.m., police say a robot was sent into the home and it found Banford lying on the floor with a weapon on his chest.
Police don't know if Banford killed himself or if he was hit by police gunfire.
