New Orleans man pleads guilty in Road Home case
A New Orleans man has pleaded guilty to theft of government funds he received after Hurricane Katrina.
Hubert Sentino Jr. applied to the Louisiana Road Home Program on Oct. 8, 2006, claiming that a property he owned that was damaged by the storm was his primary residence.
On Tuesday, he admitted that the damaged property was not his primary home and that he received $61,000 in grant funds to which he was not entitled.
Sentino faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
As part of a plea deal, Sentino also agreed to make full restitution to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
