New LSU clinic gives more options
BATON ROUGE- A new LSU urgent health care clinic opening near the corner of Gus Young and N. Foster next month, will provide an additional option for people in need of care who don't want to visit an emergency room.
According to Laura Davis, an administrator with LSU Health in Baton Rouge, 70 percent of emergency room visits in our area are for ailments that could easily be treated by urgent care clinics instead.
"We can help with things like sore throats, eye and ear infections, strains and sprains, minor fractures, and we can treat these things much more efficiently than an emergency room and get the patients in and out and taken care of quicker," said Davis.
The urgent care clinic opens on December 15th and will accept patients with or without health insurance.
