Signs describing the cost and scheduled completion date of highway construction will be done away with after Gov. Bobby Jindal signed the bill into law.
The change was a cost-cutting move for the state transportation department, because the signs cost about $500 apiece.
State transportation officials say information about highway construction costs still will be posted on the Department of Transportation and Development's website.
