NEW INFO: inmates captured in Lafayette, details released about escape
LAFAYETTE- Two men who escaped from jail in St. Mary Parish were found near some railroad tracks about 70 miles from where they sneaked to freedom.
Christopher Horton and Joshua Folks were taken in to custody about 11 a.m. Tuesday. They'd been on the run since Sunday. Lafayette Police arrested the pair without incident, a St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office spokesperson said.
Horton and Folks are believed to have gotten into the ceiling of the jail and escaped through the roof and down a wall. Jailers believe they escaped Sunday night, hours before they were found to be missing at 4 a.m. Monday.
Horton was in jail for murder and arson; Folks was doing time for theft and a previous escape.
