New firefighters will hit the streets Saturday
BATON ROUGE- Thirty new firefighters will hit the streets after graduating from the fire training academy Friday morning.
The recruits graduate with national certifications in fire fighting, emergency medicine, hazmat operation, rescue and others the department said in its announcement about Friday's event. The graduation is at Zoar Baptist Church on Hooper Road at 10 a.m. Friday.
The new firefighters will begin working Saturday.
The academy runs for twenty-two weeks.
