RAMAH- Drilling crews have returned to an area where a drilling disaster happened in 2007.
Then, a blowout preventer failed and ignited a fireball. The inferno shutdown the I-10 Basin Bridge for ten days.
Since then, rules have been changed. Now, a company has received a permit to drill along I-10. But, the company will have to meet new requirements.
The new drilling operation is about 1,050 feet from the Basin Bridge. The law requires it be no closer than 1,000 feet.
The operation is new, and is in the early stages of setting-up a drill site near Mile Marker 131 on I-10.
