New director named for USS Kidd
BATON ROUGE - The Louisiana Naval War Memorial Commission recently named Alejandra "Alex" Juan as the new executive director of the USS Kidd memorial and museum in Baton Rouge.
The commission made their decision at Saturday's board meeting. Juan replaces Maury Drummond, who is retiring after 22 years as executive director.
"We have an incredible team here at the KIDD and we will be working together to expand our educational outreach programs and to increase the public's understanding of the historical significance of the events that we host throughout the year," she said.
Juan served in the Louisiana Air National Guard's 159th Fighter Wing as a captain and Public Information Officer, and worked as an administrative assistant at the USS Kidd since March.
