BATON ROUGE - LSU and Southern University are expected to add new academic programs to their institutions following the end of the state's two-year suspension on degree creation.
The Advocate reports that the Louisiana Board of Regents has approved a new bachelor's degree in athletic training at LSU.
The board also approved three new doctorate of nursing practice programs at Southern, the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and a joint degree offering with the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and Southeastern Louisiana University.
Colleges statewide are in the process of proposing new degree programs that, in some cases, have been in the works for several years.
