NEW ROADS - City officials say a new road in New Roads will also bring in new businesses.
Officials broke ground on a new business corridor this morning along a stretch of proposed highway called Memorial Boulevard. The new street will connect Hospital Road and Major Parkway, and attract 300 new jobs according to the city.
The corridor will have a host of businesses along with shopping venues, including the Pangburn Group. The financial record company sees a bright future in the new facility.
"I really think the landscape if you look today, it's all farm land, and I think this whole area is going to be a financial center for New Roads. It's going to be vibrant," said Pangburn Group CEO, Brian Pangburn.
Three other businesses, including Wal-Mart, have committed to moving to the new corridor.
