BATON ROUGE - Carl Moore isn't an insomniac, but he believes the dogs next door that keep him awake night after night may be. What's more, he has the paperwork to prove it.
Moore says they bark all night, and he's kept pages and pages of logs to show the exact times they've barked and kept him awake over the past eight months.
It's even to the point where law enforcement are involved.
After several visits by Baker Police and animal control Moore's neighbor, Jimmie Johnson, is facing charges for the barking dogs and is scheduled to be in court in October.
Johnson will have to stop the excessive noise or face up to six months in jail and possibly a $500 fine.
News 2 tried to contact Johnson, but he was not at home.
If you have a dog barking excessively near you, contact your local animal control. If an officer visits and deems the noise is too much, they will warn the homeowner. If animal control is called twice within 15 days they could be sent to court, but only if enough evidence has been collected for the case to be prosecuted.
