NCAA women's tourney returning to Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE - LSU's Pete Maravich Assembly Center has been selected as an early round host site for the 2014 women's NCAA tournament.
This will mark the third-straight season Baton Rouge has hosted first- and second-round games.
The tournament's first two rounds will be played at 16 sites around the country between March 22-25. Precise dates and times will be released later this month.
The Lady Tigers are 16-3 all-time in NCAA Tournament games played in Baton Rouge, including 8-0 in first-round games.
Last season, LSU won both first- and second-round games on its home floor to advance to the regional semifinals.
LSU coach Nikki Caldwell says it's now up to the Lady Tigers to qualify for the tournament again so they can enjoy more postseason contests in their home arena.
