National Rifle Association to speak today on Connecticut shooting
WASHINGTON - After staying below the radar for a week, the National Rifle Association will reemerge today with a reaction to last Friday's massacre at a Connecticut elementary school.
The gun-rights group took down its Facebook page and kept silent after the shooting. After previous mass shootings, it put out statements of condolence for the victims while defending the rights of gun owners.
It has said it will announce "meaningful contributions" during a news conference today.
