National guard hosts mock terrorist attack
PLAQUEMINE - The Louisiana National Guard conducted an anti-terrorism exercise Thursday morning.
Several local, state, and federal agencies took part in the exercise along with the National Guard.
Officials say the exercise happened so that they could see how well everyone worked together in the event an emergency situation took place.
"We have to make sure we work well with other agencies, local agencies...especially our police departments, fire departments, EMS personnel because if we know their capabilities, we know what they could provide for us," said Lieutenant Colonel Gregory Joubert with the Louisiana National Guard.
The Plaquemine Police Department, Iberville Parish Sheriff's office, the Plaquemine Fire Department, Iberville Parish Emergency Operation Center and Acadian Ambulance were also present.
