Space Shuttle Endeavour will officially be part of a museum in California. Members of the shuttle's last crew, including mission commander Mark Kelly, were on hand at a ceremony at the California Science Center to announce the transfer. Endeavour is expected to arrive at Los Angeles International Airport next near and then will be towed through the streets to the museum. When a permanent display is finished, Endeavour will be in a vertical position, as if its ready to launch. Museums in Washington, D.C., Florida and New York will also receive the remaining shuttles and prototype after the fleet was retired in July.
