Name of pedestrian killed in Walker released
WALKER, La. - State police say a vehicle struck and killed a female pedestrian north of Walker.
Trooper First Class Jared Sandifer says the accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Sandifer says 30-year-old Tara M. Messina, of Denham Springs, who was dressed in dark clothing, was walking northbound along La. Highway 447 and stepped in front of an SUV driven by 61-year-old Alice Devall of Walker.
The accident remains under investigation.
