NAACP calls for prosecutor's firing after comments
BATON ROUGE - Members of the NAACP called on the district attorney's office to fire a prosecutor in East Baton Rouge accused of making racist comments related to the Trayvon Martin killing.
Members of the Baton Rouge NAACP chapter met with District Attorney Hillar Moore before making their statements. They said if the accusations were true, Moore should immediately fire the prosecutor involved.
The prosecutor, who has not been named by Moore's office, is on leave after they were accused of making fun of African-American children's names, including Trayvon Martin. The comments were made during a recess in proceedings at the Baton Rouge courthouse.
News 2 will have more on the situation starting at noon.
