N.O. man arrested a second time for illegal dumping
BATON ROUGE (AP) - A New Orleans man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant for the alleged illegal dumping of solid waste in the eastern part of the city.
Officers arrested 48-year-old Cecil Person on Thursday. He is accused of dumping six truckloads of construction and demolition debris in March in New Orleans East.
Person was hired to haul the waste to the Gentilly Landfill, but allegedly took it to the illegal dumpsite.
If convicted, Person faces up to a year in prison and a $25,000 fine for each violation.
Person was previously arrested on Dec. 8, 2010, for the same types of violations at the same location. He pleaded guilty and was ordered to remove 100 truckloads of solid waste from the illegal dumpsite.
