Music, fun and fireworks in WBR for Fourth of July
PORT ALLEN - Preparations are under way for what should be a busy Fourth of July Friday night with live music, food and fireworks in West Baton Rouge.
The West Baton Rouge director of Parks and Recreation said they expect a crowd of about 10,000 to turn out for the event as the sun sets on the west side levee.
The festivities will reach full swing when Cajun musician Wayne Toups takes to the stage at 4 p.m. with the Mississippi River as a backdrop.
Local officials said there will be plenty of food booths and a water slide for the kids to enjoy as the evening leads up to fantastic views of WBRZ's Fireworks on the Mississippi across the river.
