Murdered man, murder suspect had disturbing past
BATON ROUGE - Court documents revealed more about the history of a child molester and his accused killer, Brittany Monk.
The information was found in court documents connected to the sex crimes and were obtained Friday. Monk was arrested Wednesday with her fiance in the death of Robert Noce of Zachary. Noce was found stabbed, strangled and stuffed in a 55-gallon drum in his kitchen.
The documents obtained by WBRZ accuse Noce of years of abuse against Monk, who was her stepfather. The pair lived together after Monk's mother left them and two younger children. According to the court records, Monk's mother left after being raped by Noce.
It was after Monk's mother left that Monk's abuse began - when Monk was three-years-old. Monk said the abuse lasted for years, until she moved back in with her mother and reported it when she was 15-years-old, in 2012.
When authorities got involved and raided Noce's home, court documents indicate dozens of prescription and non prescription drugs from Xanax to children's cough sryup were seized. Monk told investigators Noce would often give her sedatives before abusing her. She said sex happened almost nightly.
The documents, which contain pages of disturbing and lurid details of abuse, suggest Noce would undress Monk himself and other times would want her to undress herself.
"It's a very difficult, emotional situation from all different kinds of perspectives," District Attorney Hillar Moore said. "[It's] fairly unique for me just having been DA for 7 years but really having been in the business for 40," he added.
Monk and Jace Crehan are charged with murder and are in the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail. Monk is also pregnant.
Noce was charged with rape but pleaded to a lesser charge of carnal knowledge with a juvenile and was released on supervised probation weeks before he was killed. Prosecutors have not elaborated on how Noce got the plea deal.
