NEW ROADS - Sheriff's deputies said the suspect in a murder this weekend in Pointe Coupee Parish surrendered to investigators today.

Investigators said Joshua Louis, 25, will be booked into the parish jail this afternoon.

Deputies said Louis shot and killed Damon Brown, 36, around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Brown's family said he had gone out to get some late night food when he was shot outside a lounge at Highway 420 and Saison Road.

Sheriff Bud Torres said Louis and Brown got into an argument, and Louis shot at Brown three times before fleeing.
