Murder suspect's bank accounts inactive, deputies confident he jumped off bridge
GONZALES- Authorities said Monday, it is likely a man did jump off a river bridge after murdering his estranged wife and son in April.
Ronald Green has not been spotted, nor has he used any of his bank accounts, since the April 17th double murder.
"Detectives are monitoring his financial accounts for any possible activity, but none of his accounts have been used to date," Ascension Parish Sheriff Lt. Col. Bobby Webre said.
Green's car was found abandoned and left running on top of the Veterans Memorial Bridge in St. John Parish shortly after the murder.
While its assumed Green jumped off the bridge, deputies are pursuing the case as if he were alive. However, crews are also focusing some effort on searching the Mississippi River for his body.
