Movies, popcorn and beer in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE- City leaders will be asked to decide if at least one movie theater should be allowed to sell alcohol.
Wednesday, the Metro Council's planning and zoning board will vote on a rezoning request by the AMC movie theater near the Mall of Louisiana. The theater wants to be able to serve alcohol.
In the last few years, the council has approved a few controversial new laws dealing with alcohol. One changed laws dealing with sales on Sundays. Another, allowed constant sales at casinos who purchased a special 24/7 permit.
