Motorcyclist killed in St. Helena crash
MONTPELIER - State police say a 29-year-old Greensburg man was killed when a car across the center line on La. Highway 16 in St. Helena Parish, striking him and another motorcycle rider head-on.
Trooper Greg Marchand said Jerry Worley III was pronounced dead at the scene. He says Worley was thrown from his motorcycle when a car driven by 19-year-old Taylor Freeman, of Pine, hit him Saturday night.
The second rider, a 51-year-old Walker man, was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge with moderate injuries after he was thrown from his motorcycle.
Marchand says charges are pending.
