Motorcycle driver killed in wreck
WATSON - State Police said a motorcycle driver was hit and killed in Livingston Parish Wednesday afternoon.
Troopers said Charles Sons Jr. ,68, was riding in Watson on Highway 16 through an intersection. Lisa Meek, 46, failed to yield and turned onto Cane Market Road and into the motorcycle's path.
Troopers said the motorcycle driver was wearing a helmet, but he still sustained fata injuries in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities determined Meek was at fault in the crash and arrested her on charges of negligent homicide and careless operation. They do not think she was impaired while driving. She was booked her into the Livingston Parish jail.
