Mother charged in death of toddler son wedged in car window
ZWOLLE - The mother of a 19-month-old toddler who died after becoming wedged in a car window has been charged with negligent homicide.
The Times reported on Tuesday that Deunka Lynch, 26, of Zwolle was booked into the Sabine Parish Jail on Feb. 10, according to Zwolle Police Chief Daniel Thomas.
She was released on a $5,000 property bond, according to Sabine Parish sheriff's spokesman Joe DeWil Jr.
"The investigation turned up what we believe to be criminal negligence," District Attorney Don Burkett said.
Lynch's son, Robert, died Sept. 21 after being taken off life support. An autopsy determined he died of positional asphyxia from being trapped by the neck in the rear window of Lynch's vehicle.
