Mother arrested for injuries to child
BATON ROUGE - Police arrested a Baton Rouge woman today after investigating multiple injuries to her daughter after she was brought into the hospital.
Investigators accused Tymekia Crawford, 20, of second degree cruelty to a juvenile.
Police said Crawford took her 11-month-old child in to Baton Rouge General Mid City to be treated for possible pneumonia. They said doctors found the infant had multiple healed fractures to her limbs, along with brain swelling.
The infant was taken to another hospital to be treated for the life-threatening injuries, and Crawford was arrested.
